Lockdown

After two people were diagnosed with Covid-19, the ship Diamond Princess has been placed under quarantine. Two passengers with pre-existing conditions were admitted to hospital on Tuesday, 11 February. Despite being quarantined, the passengers continued to participate in ship activities like dances and quizzes. The virus has not yet spread to other passengers on the ship.

In response to the incident, the Japanese government sent public health officials on the Diamond Princess ship in protective suits. Japanese officials believe that the virus was on board the ship after January 20. The cruise company is investigating the possibility that the cause was a Hong Kong resident who boarded the vessel in Japan. He stayed onboard for five days before returning to Hong Kong. The Hong Kong man was diagnosed with the virus on Feb. 1 and will be quarantined for 14 days.

Medical resources

According to the Japanese Ministry of Health's report, there have been 169 new Coronavirus cases onboard the Diamond Princess. The Japanese government is working with the cruise lines to ensure that guests are not infected. Princess Cruises also stated that Australia and Canada will repatriate any affected passengers.

The Diamond Princess has undergone an evaluation of its medical resources in order to contain the outbreak. To assist the passengers and crew of the ship, a multidisciplinary team was established. The team included representatives of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labour and Welfare. Self-Defense Forces, Japanese Red Cross Society and the National Hospital Organization.

Cost of quarantine

A major Asian cruise liner was quarantined last week after three of its passengers were found to have the coronavirus. The ship is operated by Dream Cruises, a company that specializes in traveling to Asian countries. The Diamond Princess, another luxury ship, was also quarantined after a passenger was diagnosed with the virus. The Japanese government ordered the quarantine because of the outbreak, and Princess Cruises complied. The ship's crew did not follow standard procedures to prevent cross-contamination from the virus and was unable to use proper personal protective equipment while cleaning cabins.

Princess Cruises has hired a WHO-certified and award-winning company with extensive experience in public services to oversee the quarantine process. It will employ 60 professionals to watch over passengers and crew, including nurses, doctors and nurses with clinical certifications, as well as operations personnel. These individuals will assist with meal service and recreational activities while providing daily health checks.

How To

How to stay safe when on a Cruise Ship

On a cruise ship, there are many things you should know before embarking on your journey. You must understand how to behave when onboard so you don't get into trouble. These safety tips will ensure that you have a safe trip.

  1. Always be aware of what is happening around you. People often gather onboard cruise ships to share meals. Because you are surrounded with people who want to talk and eat, it is easy to get distracted from your tasks. Don't let this distract you from what you're supposed to do. If you see someone doing something dangerous, like smoking or drinking alcohol, tell them politely to stop.
  2. Keep your room keys close to your body when you board a ship. When you get onboard, hand your key over to the person checking you in. If you get lost or need to be found, this will help you to locate your shipmates. Also, make sure to have your passport.
  3. Keep valuables away from prying eyes. Most cabins have drawers under their beds. That's a great place to store valuables such as passports, credit cards, and money. Make sure that nothing valuable is visible from plain sight. Put your bags away in the closet so no one can see them.
  4. Keep hydrated. Although cruise ships offer plenty of water, it can be difficult to remember to drink enough. Get bottled water for free on the ship. You should avoid becoming dehydrated. Dehydration makes you tired and cranky, leading to fights or accidents.
  5. Listen to announcements carefully. Announcements can also be seen on television screens and in public addresses systems. They include safety procedures as well emergency exits and even weather reports. These announcements are important. These announcements might save your own life.
  6. Do not leave your cabin without first locking the door. No matter how helpful a crew member appears, you should never leave your cabin unlocked. Thieves are known to break in through doors that are not locked. Ask a crew member first if you need to use the bathroom.
  7. Avoid going alone overboard. It takes time for the ship’s crew to rescue anyone who falls overboard. Your body could be attracted by sharks or other sea animals. It is best to wait for help.
  8. You should not smoke in an elevator. These elevators can quickly become smokey due to their high pressure. If you feel dizzy and lightheaded, it is best to get out immediately. Although the air outside may be fresh, that doesn't mean your breathing is safe.
  9. Know how to evacuate. Every year, thousands are killed in elevator accidents. Follow the screen instructions in case of an emergency.
  10. Make sure you are familiar with the fire drill. Fire drills occur regularly, typically once per day. Everyone on deck must evacuate during a drill. Follow the instructions of the crew members. Once the drill has been completed, return back to your cabin.
  11. Ask questions before you accept food and drinks. Cruisers frequently experience food poisoning. Many people don't realize that certain foods aren't safe to eat while onboard a ship. On most cruise ships, raw oysters are prohibited. If you're not sure whether the food being served is safe, you can politely decline it and opt for another meal.
  12. Use the pool with caution Many passengers have accidentally fallen into the pool. This is a common occurrence. It is possible to slip and tumble on the deck at any given moment. You should always wear good footwear and be aware of your surroundings.
