Global Dream 2 isn't being abandoned

The lower hulls of the MV Global Dream II are scheduled to be demolished, but the ship won't disappear. The ship is almost 80% complete, and it can now be towed by ocean-going tugboats. The ship is being built for Asia but is not being used. To recoup their costs, the administrators of the shipyard plan to sell its machine parts and engine parts. Global Dream will be demolished if they don't find a buyer.

Fred Olsen's Black Watch & Boudicca are in question

Fred Olsen will have to make hard decisions regarding two of its flagship ships. The Black Watch (and Boudicca) were first introduced by Royal Viking Line in 1972 and have been very successful for the company. However, they are now obsolete and need to be replaced.

Fred Olsen’s Black Watch is now unknown, as well as its sister ship Boudicca. The two vessels were purchased by the company and sold to a Turkish corporation. Both ships are old and were built in the early 1970s for the Royal Viking Line, and later served as vessels for Norwegian Cruise Line, Star Cruises and Princess Cruises. The Black Watch was initially called the Westward, and it was sailed for a while as such.

Royal Caribbean cruise ship Sovereign of the Seas

When the Sovereign of the Seas set sail in 1988, she was one of the largest cruise ships on the planet. It could carry 2,850 passengers, and she was well-equipped with multiple dining options and shopping opportunities. Later, major renovations were made to the ship and it was finally transferred to Pullmantur. However, it was not until 2007 that the company announced that it was scrapping the ship.

How To

How to be safe on a cruise ship

Before embarking on your cruise ship journey, there are many important things you should know. To avoid getting into trouble, you must know how to behave onboard. Here are some safety tips you can use to make sure you have a great trip.

  1. At all times, be aware of your surroundings. People tend to gather together on cruise ships, especially at meals. It's easy to become distracted from your duties because you're surrounded by people who want to chat and eat. Don't let this distract you from what you're supposed to do. If you notice someone engaging in dangerous behavior, such as smoking, or drinking alcohol, politely tell them to stop.
  2. Your room key should always be with you on board the ship. If you get lost or need to be found, this will help you to locate your shipmates. You should also have your passport on you.
  3. Keep valuables hidden from view. Most cabins are equipped with drawers beneath the bed. It's a great spot to store money, passports, and credit cards. Be sure to keep nothing valuable out of plain sight. Place your bags in the closet.
  4. Keep hydrated. Although cruise ships offer plenty of water, it can be difficult to remember to drink enough. You can take advantage of the complimentary bottled water onboard. Keep yourself hydrated. Dehydration can make you tired and cranky, which can lead to fights or other accidents.
  5. Always pay attention to announcements. Announcements are displayed everywhere, including on TV screens. They contain safety procedures, emergency exits, weather reports, and more. Pay attention to these announcements. They could save your life.
  6. You should lock your door before you leave your cabin. No matter how friendly a crew member may seem, never leave your cabin without locking it. Thieves often break in through unlocked doors. Ask a crew member first if you need to use the bathroom.
  7. Avoid going alone overboard. The crew will need to wait for you to be rescued if you do fall overboard. You may attract sharks or other sea creatures to your body while you are still on the ship's crew. It is best to wait for help.
  8. Do not smoke in an elevator. These elevators can quickly become smokey due to their high pressure. If you feel dizzy and lightheaded, it is best to get out immediately. It doesn't necessarily mean that breathing is safe, even though the outside air is clean.
  9. The evacuation procedure. Every year, thousands die from being trapped in an elevator. In an emergency, you should follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
  10. Get familiar with the fire drill. Fire drills happen regularly, usually once per day. Everyone on deck must evacuate during a drill. Follow the directions given by the crew members. When the drill is finished, return to the cabin and lock your door.
  11. Ask questions before you accept food or drink. Cruisers are often concerned about food poisoning. Many people are unaware that certain foods cannot be eaten aboard ships. Many cruise ships ban raw oysters. If you aren’t certain whether or not the food that you’ve been served is safe for you, please politely decline to accept it and find another meal.
  12. Use the pool with caution Many people have fallen into the pools by accident. If this happens to you, tread water until someone notices you. It is also possible to slip on the ground. So always wear proper footwear and pay attention to your surroundings.
